Light Drawing

We did Maryilin Monroe for our lighting drawing project. It was difficult to get the right about of light on me, and our problem was that we were trying to put too much light on me.  We wanted to do the hair, the mole, and the dress so that people would know who she was, but we couldn't do all of them.  I think it worked out pretty good, but there are some obvious line mess ups in the picture due to too much light.

Paintings

Paintings of Italy
I loved when we painted in class because it was more creative than other things we've done. The painting is of a beach in Naples, Italy, where I've been several times.  It would be very hot, calm, and quiet in the painting.  There would be the sounds of the waves hitting the rocks and all else would be eerily silent on the boat.  The day would be completely care free.  I presented this in the painting by using light blue and calm colories in the sky in water; the colors bring a calm feeling into the painting.  I didn't use any sharp shapes in the nature, but it is shown in the boat.  That shows that the nature is peaceful and soft compared to what humanity brings.  I used a circular motion while creating the moutains and used a larger brush to create an airy feeling to the clouds.  The water was painted with horizontal strokes.

Adobe Illustrator Flowers

                                                          Adobe Illustrator Flowers
Today we made these flowers in Adobe. I liked Adobe Illustrator alot better than photoshop because it just seemed alot simpler to me.  It was an easy and quick assignment for me that I enjoyed.  It was fun to play around with the colors and effects to see which I liked the best.

Ipad and Clay

(Waiting for Mr. Sands to put a picture of the monster I made on the Ipad; he promised to do it on Thursday last week but he didn't so I'm waiting for it.)

(I was absent and Mr. Sands didn't take a picture of the clay animal I made...but it's about to go in the kelm..)

The Ipad activity was extremely free-style which was fun and allowed for creativity.  I enjoyed the project and made a porcipine looking type monster.
I also enjoyed the clay, but didn't have much time to work on it since I was absent, but I still like my product.  It was of a bunny and I enjoyed working with the clay because we could choose to wmake whatever we wanted.  I learned how to work with the clay better and if I could do the project again I would have more time to smooth out the clay and make it look more polished.  The most difficult part of working with the clay was keeping the shape of the clay from falling apart.  It was less sturdy than I would like because it was hollow on the inside and caved in a little bit, but I fixed it and it turned out fine.

Zentagles

                                                                       Zentagles
For this project, I helped out a group just by filling in the squares they outlined.  It was simple and the other people in my group decided what the shape of the zentangle was so I didnt use my own ideas on this project.  I was busy painting the door Mr. Sands told me to paint pink.

(Mr. Sands didnt post a picture of the door he told me to paint while the class was making Zentangles)....waiting for the picture..

Forced Perspective

The forced perspective project was fun, light and open to creativity. It was easy to think of cool things to try to do for this project but it was hard to get everything to actually work well and make it look realistic. We had to try to make sure everything was in line, and that was a challenge.  I think we did pretty good and this picture is pretty good, but I wish we could have made more adjustments and an improvement I would make is Taylor would be further back from the camera so her feet would look like they were on the roof.

Learned Most/ Most Succesful Projects

                                                             Most Successful Project
I feel that this was my most successful project because I really enjoyed doing it and I really like the way it turned out.  In my personal opinion, I just like it.  This project allowed me to do my own thing with choosing colors and the feel of the art, rather than alot of the other projects. This project also invovled multiple steps like making the frame, and that was fun.  It was the most successful project because I enjoyed it.

Project I learned the Most From
I always thought I was terrible at drawing, but I'm really proud of my self portrait. Getting the measurements down gave me a general idea of how the face should look, but then I went back in and customized all the sizes so that it looked like me. I learned alot about drawing, and my final self portrait looked even better than this one.  I improved so much in my drawing and I actually enjoyed drawing because it looked decent.  I learned the most from the project becasue it turned out so much better than I anticipated and I improved overall.
